WUSTL law students are taking their commitment to public service to the next level through a growing partnership with Northwest Academy of Law. With the assistance of law faculty and through their own initiatives, law students are reaching out to students at the inner-city St. Louis high school to provide mentoring and educational experiences.

Fighting cancer requires a team of medical experts. But for many patients, another key team member is a licensed clinical psychologist. Siteman Counseling Service at Siteman Cancer Center provides free therapy to help patients cope. Rotator cuff disease in the shoulder is among the most common of all musculoskeletal disorders. Several patients recently were on hand for an update on a landmark study on rotator cuff injury at the School of Medicine. The study, “Asymptomatic Rotator Cuff Tears: A Model for Pain Development,” was funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Friends and family of Bernard Becker, MD, will gather for a memorial at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in Moore Auditorium on the Medical Campus. Becker, professor emeritus of ophthalmology and visual sciences, died Aug. 28 at age 93.
